PREPARATION

Before You Arrive

Five simple steps to ensure you get the most from your very first spa experience.

1

Book in Advance

Reserve your session at least 24 hours ahead via WhatsApp or phone. Let us know your preferences and any health concerns.

2

Avoid Heavy Meals

Eat lightly 1–2 hours before your appointment. A full stomach can make lying on the table uncomfortable during treatment.

3

Stay Hydrated

Drink plenty of water before and after your massage to help flush out toxins released during the session.

4

Arrive 10 Minutes Early

Allow time to check in, fill out a brief wellness form, and ease into the calm environment before your session begins.

5

Wear Comfortable Clothing

You'll change into a robe provided by us. Avoid heavy jewellery or elaborate clothing — simple is best.

Preparation

Before You Arrive

Your session begins long before you lie down. These five steps ensure you arrive ready to receive the full benefit of your treatment.

01

Hydrate Well

Drink at least 500ml of water in the hours before your appointment. Well-hydrated tissue responds more readily to massage—it softens faster, moves more easily, and releases toxins more efficiently. Dehydrated muscles are denser, more resistant, and more prone to post-massage soreness.

02

Arrive 10 Minutes Early

Those 10 minutes are not administrative time—they are the beginning of your session. Use them to be welcomed with herbal tea, complete your brief consultation form, and let the ambient calm of the space begin to lower your cortisol before your therapist even begins. Guests who rush in at the exact appointment time need the first 10 minutes just to arrive mentally.

03

Avoid Heavy Meals

Lying face-down on a full stomach is genuinely uncomfortable. More importantly, digestion diverts blood flow to your gastrointestinal tract—reducing the circulatory benefits of massage. Eat lightly if you must eat at all in the two hours before your session. A light snack is fine; a full meal is not.

04

Leave Devices Behind

Not on silent—behind. The notification anxiety created by a device in the room, even a silent one, is measurable. The visual cue of a phone on a shelf activates the same anticipatory stress response as receiving an alert. The hour is more effective, and the mental rest is more complete, when the device stays in your bag.

05

Communicate Honestly

Your therapist can only work with what you tell them. Be specific about your pain: where it is, how long you've had it, what makes it worse. Be honest about your pressure preference—many first-time guests accept more pressure than they want out of politeness, missing the therapeutic ideal. Your honesty determines the quality of your session.

During

During Your Session

Communicate Pressure Preferences

The moment a pressure feels either too light to be effective or too intense to be enjoyable, say so. This is not interrupting—it is directing. Your therapist adjusts in real time and applies the exact level of therapeutic pressure your body actually needs. Many first-timers leave undertreated because they stayed silent.

Relax and Breathe

Conscious, slow breathing through the nose activates the parasympathetic nervous system. It is also the single most effective way to help your therapist work deeper—a held breath corresponds to held muscle tension. Exhale deliberately when the therapist works a particularly tight area.

It's Okay to Feel Emotional

The body stores emotional tension in tissue. When long-held muscle tension is released, it is entirely normal to feel a sudden wave of emotion—sometimes sadness, sometimes relief, sometimes without any identifiable cause. This is physiological, not psychological. It is a sign the treatment is working at depth.

No Need to Make Conversation

Your therapist is not expecting small talk. Silence is the most therapeutic state for both of you. If you fall asleep, this is considered success—not rudeness. Your therapist will gently wake you at the end of the session.

Aftercare

After Your Massage

"The session continues after you leave."

01

Drink water immediately and continue hydrating throughout the day. Massage accelerates the release of metabolic waste from tissue—water helps your body eliminate it.

02

Move gently, not intensely. A slow walk, light stretching, or simply resting is ideal. Avoid the gym for 24 hours—your muscles are still in recovery mode.

03

If you experience mild soreness (especially after deep tissue), this is normal. It means your tissue was treated at depth. It resolves within 24–48 hours. A warm compress helps.

04

Protect the evening. The night after a massage is neurologically primed for deep sleep. Don't fill it with screens, alcohol, or stimulating activity. Let the session complete itself.
